Bangladesh is a country of cultural heritage where different cultural streams have gathered to reflect the rich thoughts of Bengalese in front of the world. National poetry festival is such a festival where poets from all over the country and other foreign countries gather to share their philosophical views about life and nature. The festival is held at Hakim Chattar of Dhaka University, which starts on 1 February and ends on 3 February. The festival has started from the year 1986 and become a part of the national festival depicting the socio-philosophical aspects from time to time. Famous poets of the country attend the festival, while this has become the platform for the rising poets of the country where they get the chance to display their creativity. Around 500 poets from different places join the festival. Exhibition of posters and documents of the previous year takes place at the festival premise. A famous poet inaugurates the festival. Recitation goes on at the stage with musical background. A promising young poet is rewarded in each festival. Thus the festival encourages the spirit of creativity in the field of philosophical thoughts.
