Narsingdi word comes from the name of “Narsingho” who was the son of King Dhanpadsingho. From the man speech we know that king Dhanpadsingho ruled a porgona which was situated in the north-west side of Sonargaon. His son Narsingho settled a town which was 3 km away from the river Sitolohkkha. By the rotation of time that place is known us as Narsingdi.
