The history of Lalmonirhat is very rich. Many people view that in the British reign while cutting the forest for setting up railway lines the workers got LALMIN. From that the word Lalmonirhat was originated. Besides many view that revolted farmer leader Nuruldin, Fakir Moznu Shah’s had a closest rich woman by whom the name Lalamonirhat has been originated.
