Borguna is very close to Bay of Bengal. Actually there did not get any specific information about the historical name of Borguna . But there is a different opinion that here wooden Traders were used to await until full moon (boro gon in bangla) for getting favorable time & tide and from that the name Borguna was originated. Besides there is a say that people used Bore gun( ROPE) against the tide that’s why this place used to call BORGUNA. . Someone thought that Borguna was the name of a Mog or Bawali, so the name of this area is Borguna.

Borguna enriched in rivers as Horinghata, Biskhali, Aadhar Manik, Choghai, Burissor etc.

Borguna is enriched in Historical & sightseeing Spots such as Borgina Launch- Steamer ghat, The natural beauty of the river Burissor etc.
