Barisal is a district of crops . The previous name of this district was “Chandra Deep”. There is no specific information at when the people had been started to live in Chandra Deep. There are various types of saying about the name “Barisal”. This district was famous for fish and salt. In 1757 when The British took the charge, they controlled the salt business here. There was a large salt factory was known as “Borisalt” to British people. By the rotation of time Borisalt turned into Barisal.
